Tesla’s website indicates fires occur with their vehicles at an approximate rate of one fire every 205 million miles traveled. Data for all vehicles in the US comes in around a vehicle fire every 19 million miles traveled per several sources.

One item we see highlighted in the news in the rare instances they occur are Tesla fires. This data indicates that you are many times less likely to experience a vehicle fire if you own a Tesla. As with any vehicle, safety should be first, and Tesla is proving they are pushing vehicle safety well beyond the next level.
